Thank You From Midget LL!!
We just wanted to take a minute to say thank you again to all of our players, parents and volunteers for this past season. We had an awesome parent group!
I am proud of the way our players tried their best and continued to attend games and practices despite few wins. We did have a few laughs along the way also. I would like to thank, what I think I can now safely call my longtime assistant coach, Darwin Dunn, our wise sage Derek Tutt, whom I have coached with in the past and will gladly work with any season and my lovely and patient wife and team manager Becki. Your help was much appreciated!
Thank you to our Captain (and leading scorer) Brett Joiner and this season's alternate captains, Riley Dunn, Sabastian Patterson, Noah Haggart and Liam Zurbrigg-Tutt, as well as those who filled in with an "A" throughout the year for your leadership. Thank you Thomas Smith also, who was a Captain without a letter.
Finally, congratulations to this season's award winners for our team; Stephanie Young (most improved), Liam Zurbrigg-Tutt (most sportsmanlike), Noah Haggart (most dedicated) and of course, Noah's father Dennis Haggart on bringing home the inaugural Mike Clarke Award for volunteer of the year and Jacob DiSomma for his Joe Martin Award win. Much deserved by all.
We have a few players possibly moving on to other teams etc., and I wish the best of luck to them. If successful, those teams will be getting fine young ladies or gentlemen. We have also heard from many that intend on returning for another year of local league, which is awesome! We believe we are close on verbal commitments from enough players to ice a team and I am already excited for next season!
In the near future, I will have the opportunity to attend the MPS Local League meeting and I will do my best to keep everyone posted on any news. As always, if any questions, concerns or suggestions please let me know so I can pass them along.
