Super Sabby!
Looking to get back in the win column, Almaguin takes 3 points in 2 games this past weekend on the strength of three Sabastian Patterson goals.

First up, the Midget LL Ice Devils took to the road on Thursday January 12th for the first of a home-and-home set with Huntsville Aben Graphics.

Almaguin came out poised in the 1st, moving the puck well and taking advantages of a few Aben mistakes to open the scoring on goals by Patterson and a brilliant solo rush by winger Colter Beally.  The lead would be short lived however as Hunstville stormed back, adding two late period markers to bring the game to its eventual 2-2 final.

Despite playing a scoreless final two periods, both teams had their chances at victory, but were unable to convert, settling for a point apiece.

Less than 72 hours later, the two squads squared off again, this time at SSJ Arena in Sundridge and this time Almaguin would not settle for less than a victory. Special teams were key on this day as the Ice Devils scored once on the power play and twice short-handed to come away with a 3-1 win.

Following a scoreless first, Sabastian Patterson broke in alone early in the 2nd to beat the Aben goaltender for the game’s first goal. With all the scoring coming in the middle period, newly named Team Captain Liam Zurbrigg-Tutt and Patterson with his second of the game rounded out the Ice Devils scoring with a short-handed goal each

Next Up; a busy January continues with two more home dates; Tuesday January 17 at 7:10 PM vs Parry Sound 2 and Sunday January 22nd at 3:00 PM vs Huntsville Dalton Payne.  Both games are slated for SSJ Arena.
