The novice Ice Devils are exhausted after a huge weekend of hockey
The novice Ice Devils are exhausted after a huge weekend of hockey!

Saturday was a double header against the Highland Storm. Almaguin hit the ice with a lot of energy and Owen Prentice got the first goal of the game with Emilia Jarvis assisting. Many of the players tried different positions and did a great job adjusting their game.

After a short lunch break they were back on the ice and were able to play an even more competitive game. There was hustling to the offensive zone to get some great shots on net and hard defensive play in the zone. Aiden Cremer got the first goal for Almaguin with an assist from Owen Prentice. The Devils didn’t give up and fought hard to get two more goals in the third period. One scored by Cole Farquhar and the other by Owen Prentice.

Thanks to Cole Farquhar for playing in net in the first game, and Maxime Major Fleming in the second. Both players stepped out of their comfort zone and stepped up for the team. Great job!

Sunday, the Ice Devils played the Parry Sound Shamrocks and were hungry for the win. The energy was high both on the ice and in the stands. The defence held the line and kept the puck in the offensive zone for good offensive play. The forwards hustled hard and stayed on their opponents to keep them from getting to the net. Owen Prentice had three beauty goals to give him a hat trick for the day! Aiden Cremer scored a great one timer, assisted by Owen Prentice and Matthew Wilkie. Almaguin got into some penalty trouble but were able to kill them off.  Maxime Major Fleming was in the net for his second game of the weekend and stoned the Shamrocks on a penalty shot! Congratulations on a great win! You worked hard as a team all weekend and never gave up!

Rest up for a road trip next weekend, in Port Carling against the Muskoka Rock.
