Double Header Sunday; Parry Sound 13, Aidan 1
Despite the score lines, our Almaguin Midget LL Ice Devils played fairly well in both games of a double dip on Sunday afternoon at The Bobby Orr Community Centre in Parry Sound.
In Game #1, the undefeated Shamrocks got on the board first, midway through the opening period, before adding one more with one second left to end 1st up 2-0.
Almaguin winger Aidan Carleton cut the score in half early in the 2nd (assists to Stephanie Young & Liam Zurbrigg-Tutt), only to see Parry Sound storm back with 3 of their own to hold a 5-1 advantage heading to the 3rd period.
The home team added 2 more in the final period to stretch the score to a 7-1 final.
Game #2 saw Almaguin come out with a great deal of energy, but not able to capitalize on many chances as Parry Sound cruised to a 6-0 victory. Ice Devil forwards Lindsay Young, Jevin Ronholm and Sabastian Patterson, among others had their opportunities, but Almaguin were unable to solve Shamrocks goalie Justin Dawson.
Goalie Jacob DiSomma was again outstanding in Almaguin net to keep the scores as respectable as they were.
