With the Christmas break behind them, the Peewee
LL Ice Devils returned to home ice in Burk’s Falls on Saturday January 7th
to tangle with Huntsville HRC.
HRC opened the scoring just 44 seconds into the game, but the lead was short lived as Ice Devil centre Max Boyes (assist to Markus Krajinovic) knotted the game at 1-1 in the dying minutes of the 1st period. The middle frame saw the two evenly matched teams trade goals with Almaguin’s marker coming off the stick of Hayden Snow, assisted by Connor McLaren.
Almaguin took control of the game in the 3rd, scoring three times (Boyes and Snow, each with their 2nd of the day, and Brayden Moore) while holding HRC off the score sheet to complete the win. Make the final 5-2 Almaguin. The victory was the Ice Devils third in the past four games and puts them in sole possession of 2nd place in the Local League Peewee division.
Krajinovic, with a strong two-way performance was named Almaguin's "Hardest Worker" for the game.
