Unbeaten Streak Reaches Five!
The Ice Devil Peewee team headed for Baysville
on Saturday January 15th, looking to continue their stellar play of late, and despite some
nervous moments, where able to hang on for a nail-bitting 5-4 victory over
Huntsville HRC and push their undefeated streak to a season-high five games.
Devils defenceman Cliff Loucks opened the scoring in the waning minutes of the 1st period with another of his patented blasts from the blueline and Almaguin added two more goals in 2nd, courtesy of Markus Krajinovic and a lovely passing play from Colleen Carleton to Connor McLaren.
Despite three 3rd period HRC goals, the Ice Devils were able to chip in two more (Hayden Snow and Max Boyes) and hang on for the hard fought win. Some wonderful team play and solid goaltending from Josh dePeuter contributed again to the victory.
Colleen Carleton, with her one assist and a handful of scoring opportunities was named Almaguin’s “hardest worker” on the day.
The Peewee’s look to continue their success next weekend as they line-up for a rare Peewee game at SSJ Arena in Sundridge on Saturday January 22nd vs Huntsville Heather Douglas, before travelling highway #124 to Parry Sound for a Sunday afternoon game with the Parry Sound 2 Shamrocks at the Bobby Orr Community Centre. The start time for both games is 2PM.
