Almaguin's Atom Ice Devils secure season’s big first win
The Almaguin Atom Ice Devils won their first game of the season in Huntsville on Saturday night, defeating a skilled Huntsville Tasso Lake team 4-3 – the same team that bested the Devils 7-4 the last time the two met.
In a hard-fought come-from-behind win, Hayley Robins scored her first goal with only 3:45 left in the third to tie the game 3-3. Then, backed by some solid goaltending and a strong defensive core, Nathan Wuori grabbed the lead scoring his 3rd of the game with only 22.5 seconds remaining.
For Almaguin, Lowell Wilson was named Ice Devil player of the game. The entire coaching staff and the team’s supporters could not be more proud of today’s effort.
