Injuries Derail Bantams at Hespeler Tournament
The first tournament of the season for the Bantam LL Ice Devils did not quite go as planned as a handful of injuries dogged the team all weekend long.

Despite the bumps and bruises, Almaguin did get on the board first in their first of two Friday games as Max Boyes jumped on the rebound of a Markus Krajinovic shot and tucked the puck into an empty net.

Unfortunately that would be Almaguin's only score of the game as the Tillsonburg Tornadoes skated to a 5-1 win.

The second game of the day had the Devils pitted against the host Hespeler Shamrocks and a slow start saw the Sharocks jump out to a 3-0 lead after two periods before winger Levi Spoelstra tallied for Almaguin.  Make the final 4-1.

With the aforementioned as well as tired legs and waning confidence taking their toll, Almaguin took on a very strong Lorne Park Clarkson Wild team in its final game of the weekend and the chippy game completely belonged to Lorne Park (who eventually lsot in the tournament semi-finals).  With some good puck movement and swift skating the Wild handed Almaguin its biggest loss of the year, winning 14-0.

The Ice Devils have a weekend off to hopefully heal some aches and pains before getting back to the ice for one final game before the Christmas break as they play host to South Muskoka on Sunday December 16th at 2:30 pm at the Sundridge Strong Joly Arena.
