Turkey Hangover?
The Almaguin Bantam Ice Devils returned to the ice this past Saturday/Sunday as the Local League schedule got going again following the Christmas break and the team seemed perhaps a little sluggish from the layoff...

On Saturday, Huntsville Pro Active were the hosts as Almaguin traveled to the Canada Summit Centre for a 9:20 AM puck drop.

The only goal of the first period belonged to the home team, but the second period saw both teams crank it up as each squad netted three. For the Ice Devils, two Clayton Johnson markers sandwiched a goal from alternate captain Markus Krajinovic to leave Huntsville with a close 4-3 advantage heading to the third period.  In the final frame, Johnson was able to add his third of the game to complete his hat trick, but the Devils could not hold off Pro Active who scored three more times to take the contest 7-4.  Assists for the game went to Max Boyes, Elizabeth Hancocks, Levi Spoelstra, Jacob Callery and Owen Robinson.

Sunday brought a chance for redemption as the team headed to Parry Sound for an afternoon tilt with Sifft Electric, but unfortunately the Christmas slumber remained as Parry Sound put one one the Ice Devils to the tune of 10-3. The Almaguin goals on the day belonged to Cliff Loucks (assisted by Levi Spoelstra), Clayton Johnson (Lily Wager and Dylan Watt) and Markus Krajinovic (Anna Wager and Owen Robinson). Players and coaches alike were not happy with the weekend performances, especially Sunday and will look to "right the ship" on Saturday January 19th when they visit a solid Huntsville Heather Douglas Photography team.
