Friday night they hosted the South Muskoka Bears in Sundridge.

lmaguin was a slow out of the gates, but managed to play a good defensive first and second period. Eloise Worrell stayed on top of the puck and kept Almaguin in the game.

After a solid effort by all of the Ice Devils and persistence in both ends, Eric Vincer netted the first goal off a smooth pass from Owen Prentice. Less than a minute later, Aiden Cremer scored the second goal of the shift with another assist from Owen Prentice, to tie up the game. South Muskoka had a good response, netting a couple quick ones to regain the lead. Almaguin couldn’t catch a break, ringing three shots off the posts. Although the passing was on point and the defensive game was strong, Almaguin wasn’t able to pull out the win.

The Ice Devils were back on the ice again Saturday, facing off with the South Muskoka Bears in Bracebridge. The Bears were hungry for the win and the Devils struggled to get scoring chances. At the end of the first period, Almaguin was down by 4. After a quick break between periods, Aiden Cremer got the puck to the back of the net. Maxime Major Fleming followed it up with a quick second goal. The second period showed great defensive play, and with Eloise Worrell’s skills in the net, the Bears didn’t get many scoring opportunities.

In the third period Almaguin started to get tired and they were not able to pull out the win.

The Ice Devils get a short break over the next couple of days to recharge their batteries before a big tilt versus the Essa Eagles.

Happy Holidays to all of the players and their families. We appreciate your commitment to the team and everything you do, both on and off the ice. Enjoy the next few days and we will see you back at the rink for a practice on Thursday.
