This is given out to the Local League Volunteer of the Year. Person, group or team that gives unselfishly to make operation of Local League better as a whole.
This year's Local League Volunteer of the Year is
Elizabeth Hancocks.
Here is the submission for her nomination:
As most of you know, Elizabeth was not able to play this year due to back surgery, yet she still wanted to be at the rink. It was very difficult for her to go from 5-6 days on the ice playing the sport she loves most, to next to no physical activity. As she was recovering, Elizabeth would lead the Peewee team in warm-ups before the games, then head to the booth to time keep, she never missed her brother's games.
She was always willing to help out at the snack bar, and often picked up last minute shifts to cover busy games. She even offered to help teach some parents how to run the time clock and the snack bar routines & inventory.
Once her surgeon permitted activity, she was quick to help out with the Peewee drills and did what she could to help at practice. Despite her recovery taking her away from playing on a team this year, she still wanted to contribute to the sport she loved, however she was able.
Thank you Elizabeth and Congratulations!
