MIdget Team Off to a Great Start!
Our Midgets have been busy early this season with Tryouts, practices and now three games already under their belts. This team made Almaguin Minor Hockey History to be the first team ever to play a league game in September.
First game Match up resulted in a tie vs South Muskoka AE. New linemates had a chance to get familiar with each other and everyone was able to work out the first game jitters.
Friday night saw the team do the Haliburton drive through some very heavy rain, but the boys handled the Storm AE team with ease and played the best hockey to date in the third period. A win was the result with a 4 - 2 score for Almaguin.
Sunday afternoon was another game vs South Muskoka AE, and although the team didn't play as strong as they had Friday night Coach's were happy with some of the learning that happened. "We have a long way to go but I am very happy with our effort so far. Nice way to start a year with a winning streak under our belts!" says coach Jamey Sollman
