The Almaguin Ice Devils Midget Rep team had a very busy weekend in their first season tournament in Millbrook On. see rest of article
They fought hard with a win on Friday of 2-1 over the Kawartha Coyotes. Saturday morning the Devils tied with a score of 2-2 against the Essa Eagles. Saturday nights game ended in a tie also of 2-2 against Sturgeon Lake. Points sent Almaguin off into the semi-finals. Sundays semi game had us paired up against our local rivals the Huntsville Otters. Tension and stress levels were high as this game put friends against friends and for the Coleman family, brother against brother. They fought hard dominating much of the game, but Huntsville hung on until the bitter end. The high energy game remained scoreless right until the end of the 3rd period. With a mere 1 minute and 48 seconds left in the game, Huntsville squeaked a goal past us. The Devils put forth an extremely strong tournament effort. Big "Thanks" to the coaching staff and parents for help making it a great weekend.
