Good Game, Bad Result.
Despite a well played game by the home team, a few
bad bounces and a couple lapses in focus all added up to a skewed score line as
the Midget LL Ice Devils dropped 6-2 decision to Huntsville Dalton Payne Contracting
on Sunday at SSJ arena in Sundridge.
Huntsville opened the scoring late in the first and held the lead until the early stages of the second period before Almaguin’s Jacob Whitfield pounced on a loose puck and made no mistake in beating the Huntsville goaltender to tie the game at one. The only assist on the goal went to Sab Patterson. The deadlock would be short-lived however as some Almaguin defensive zone chaos led to three Dalton Payne goals in less than four minutes to give the visitors a commanding 4-1 lead. Not done yet, Huntsville would add two more in the third, with the only Ice Devil reply coming from Noah Haggart(from Ryan Newberry and Rainan Morgan).
