Ice Devils Drop Playoff Opener.
Up 3-2 after two, our Midget LL Ice Devils could not hold on to the lead, dropping game #1 of the 2014-15 round-robin play-down 6-4 to Huntsville Thoms & Currie on Sunday in Burk's Falls.
Brett Joiner and Noah Haggart spotted Almaguin to an early 2-0 lead before Huntsville cut the score in half to end the 1st period. A Thomas Smith unassisted goal gave the home team the 3-2 lead in the 2nd, only to see Thoms & Currie score twice in the first half of the 3rd to put them up 4-3. Brett Joiner added his 2nd of the game at 8:27 of the period to tie it up, before a combination of penalties and defensive lapses would allow Huntsville to tally twice more and complete the comeback. Thomas Smith, Matt Webster and Emma Story added assists for Almaguin.
