Season Finale Nail-biter!
Sunday afternoon at SSJ saw our Midget LL Ice Devils wrap up the regular season with re-match with the seasoning opening opponent South Muskoka Bears.
In a well played game by both teams, Almaguin (in what has become the theme this season) came up just short, losing 4-3 on a late Bears goal.
The home team opened the scoring mid-way through the 1st on a nice Noah Haggart effort, but South Muskoka would reply just 31 seconds later to end the period 1-1.
A late 2nd period goal would put the visiting Bears ahead, but this time it was Almaguin's turn to return the favour and tie it up, courtesy of a Jevin Ronholm goal, assisted by Haggart and Aidan Carleton. 2-2 after two.
South Muskoka would again surge ahead until Ice Devil alternate captain Stephanie Young sent Captain Sab Patterson in for a beautiful individual goal to once again knot it up.
Unfortunately, a victory (or tie) was again not to be as the visitors potted the winner with just over 8 minutes remaining and hung on for the win.
