"June" warms up...
This past weekend saw the Midget LL Ice Devils play their first “double” weekend of the season, travelling to Parry Sound on Saturday, before returning home to host South Muskoka on Sunday afternoon in Sundridge.

Saturday night’s game was a fast-paced, high scoring affair that ended 7-3 in favour of the home town Shamrocks. Another tough night in the penalty column did not help Almaguin, as Parry Sound, as good teams will, capitalized, scoring twice on the power play. Team Captain Sabastian Patterson paced Almaguin with a 3 point night (1 goal, 2 assists) and opened the Almaguin scoring in the 1st, converting on a feed from newcomer Colter Beally and D-Man Liam Zurbrigg-Tutt, while Ice Devils player of the game Jeremiah Ardiel chipped in 2 goals (assists on both to Patterson) of his own, one of them short-handed, in the losing effort.

Sunday brought a different story, as Almaguin came to play right from the opening faceoff and could have scored on the very first shift of the game, almost tipping one home. As it was, the Ice Devils netted four goals in the 2nd as Sab Patterson, on the power play, Noah Haggart and Jeremiah Ardiel, with two in the period found the back of the net. The Ice Devils (or rather Ardiel) would add another in the 3rd, cruising to a 5-2 win in front of a loud, hometown crowd.

For Almaguin, the win brought the team back to .500 in league play.  Almaguin assists on the afternoon went to Owen Adams, Dennis Luckasavitch, Danny Thomas and Aidan Carleton, while Centre Noah Haggart added 3 helpers to go with his goal for a much deserved 4-point evening.
