The Midget LL Ice Devils made sure the Christmas break would be just a little bit happier, skating to 2-0 win over Huntsville Aben Graphics on Sunday evening at the Canada Summit Centre.
Both teams came in wanting the victory to head for the holiday break on a high note and the first period proved as much as both Almaguin and Huntsville went back and forth before Jeremiah Ardiel put the Ice Devils on the board first, scoring a breakaway goal in the late stages of the opening frame.
Ardiel's 1st period goal would hold up until the very last minute of play as Aben were unable to get a puck past Almaguin goaltender Leona Lee. Down 6 skaters to 3, Captian Sab Patterson buried a short-handed empty netter to give Almaguin the win and Lee her second "clean sheet" of the season. Assists on the night went to Jacob Whitfield and Riley Dunn.
