Midget Local League, 2016-2017 Season (Almaguin Minor Hockey)

As will happen in Midget hockey, the final few games of the season brought with them some emotions as many players competed for the final times of their minor hockey careers. 

On Saturday February 18th the Midget LL Ice Devils travelled to Nobel to take part in the first (and hopefully annual) Muskoka – Parry Sound Local League Outdoor Classic vs Parry Sound 1 in what kicked off a 7 games in 7 days stretch for the team.

Following a cancellation of Saturday’s game in Huntsville, the Midget LL Ice Devils finally got back to game action on a snowy Sunday afternoon at the Bracebridge Memorial Arena as they battled the much improved (from the last time they met) South Muskoka Bears.  

Short on players, but big on heart, the Midget LL Ice Devils travelled to Huntsville on Thursday January 26th for a third shot at victory (in three tries) vs. Dalton Payne Contracting and this time they nearly pulled it off.

Despite a well played game by the home team, a few bad bounces and a couple lapses in focus all added up to a skewed score line as the Midget LL Ice Devils dropped 6-2 decision to Huntsville Dalton Payne Contracting on Sunday at SSJ arena in Sundridge.
