Effort was there, goals were...almost there...
Despite finally finding some offence, the Bantam LL Ice Devils still were not able to find the back of the net this past Saturday, dropping a hard-fought battle 3-0 to Huntsville Davicor.

Almaguin did dominate the play early as Braedan Holotuk, Abby Flynn and Cliff Loucks among others had opening period chances but just couldn’t bury one. The end of the first period saw Huntsville up 1-0.

A scoreless (and at times lacklustre) second period led to a very exciting third period. Davicor managed to double their lead at the 10-minute mark, but not getting down, Almaguin continued to fight, forcing the Huntsville netminder to make a number of saves to earn the win. Ice Devils alternate Captain Kallan Ronholm commented postgame “if we play the whole game like we played the last five minutes, we win.”

The bantams take a break from league play this week for their first tournament action of the season. Friday Morning (Dec. 1) at 10 a.m. Almaguin takes on the Powassan Hawks at the Sportsplex in Powassan, before travelling to Astorville for 3 p.m. vs. the Miller Technology Trappers. On Saturday, the Devils stick a little closer to home, with 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. games against the East Nipissing Farquhar Chrysler Vipers and KIA North Bay. Both games are slated for the Trout Creek Community Centre.
