Early to rise, early to score...
They say the early bird gets the worm and it was
certainly true this weekend as our Peewee LL Ice Devils turned in a spirited
early morning effort on Saturday in Huntsville against one of the league’s top
teams, Heather Douglas Photography, coming home with a 4-2 victory.
The puck dropped at 8:10 AM and just over six minutes later Almaguin was on the board as Brayden Moore slid home a breakaway effort. Almaguin Captain Connor McLaren added another in the last minute of the 1st to put the visitors up 2-0.
The start of the 2nd period saw Huntsville get one back, but Dale Hunter in the middle frame and Hayden Snow in the final period scored for the Ice Devils to secure the win. Make no mistake, a strong performance by every member of the team was what earned the win. To go with the one goal, Hunter also notched two assists for a three point game, while Colleen Carleton chipped in two helpers of her own.
Player of the game for Almaguin with a one goal, one assist and strong defensive effort was Brayden Moore.
