Saturday December 17 saw the Peewee Local League
Ice Devils in Gravenhurst for a battle with South Muskoka C.C. Tatham, looking
to wrap-up the 2016 portion of their schedule on a positive note. Mission accomplished.
Almaguin came out strong and led by hat-tricks by both defenceman Cliff Loucks and forward Connor McLaren, cruised to a convincing 8-3 win. Loucks opened the scoring with a rocket from the point, while McLaren netted his first of the game to give Almaguin a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Two C.C. Tatham goals vs one for Almaguin (Cliff Loucks again) tied things up heading to the third, but the final frame belonged to Almaguin as they scored five more times; McLaren with 2, Markus Krajinovic, “super-rookie” Dale Hunter and Loucks with his third of the game to seal the win.
Picking up assists during the high scoring game were; Colleen Carleton with 3, Elizabeth Hanckocks (2), Dale Hunter (2), Ethan McLaren (2), Cliff Loucks, Jacob Callery, Brayden Moore and goalie Josh dePeuter!
